Afternoon folks. In case you missed it on Friday, I posted a free sampler. A selection songs from my previous albums and EPs. I’ve always had various tracks scattered around the internet, so I thought I would make it easy for you and gather a bunch together. Please do download and share. Go HERE. Cheers.
The non music part of my life has taken over recently. Still, this is a wee note to say thanks to the folks who picked up a copy of my last album, who wrote about it, played it, or supported it in any way. Much appreciated. There aren’t many left, if you are thinking of picking one up, otherwise, try the usual places if you’re in Scotland.
Also, it’s now on Bandcamp, so if you fancy a listen, go HERE.
Yes, my second album, Sheep on a Beach, is released today. I’d like to thank a few people who helped with it. Charlotte Bari, who designed the artwork and played various percussion on the album, and Jill O’Sullivan, who contributed vocals to the title track. Many other folks helped in different ways, thanks to you too.
The album is a self-release on New Pleasure Recordings, a label I run with some help from friends. Thanks to Matthew Young, Halina Rifai and Lloyd Meredith who offered valuable advice in this micro-venture. Please do visit their sites, Song, by Toad Records and Olive Grove Records, as both Virgin of the Birds and Call to Mind have records out, and you might just love them.
See below for tracklisting and a couple of free tracks. Thanks.

Hello folks. My second album is called ‘Sheep on a Beach’ and will be released on New Pleasure Recordings, on April 14th. ‘The Days Keep Coming’, is the second track on the album, and is below for your listening/downloading pleasure.
Over the past year I have recorded some songs while travelling. Some minimal poppy stuff, awkward stuff, field recordings and instrumentals. Not having a guitar or a studio to work from made these recordings more fun, and not having a stable place to work led to more experiments, short bursts of writing and having to complete songs in one sitting.
Due to the nature of recording I have a mass of stuff to edit, loop, tidy, improve, fuck with and master. In the meantime, here are three of the tracks. As you will hear, there are no lack of guitars on Complacency. This was a lapse and it wont happen again. Cheers.
Listen or download the full EP free from Bandcamp.
Earlier this year I went on a recording trip to France. With no guitars around, and no studio, the music and process was more fun and less precious. All the music from that project will take a while to put together, but meantime, here is a song and some artwork, part of an EP which will be released next week and will cost you nothing.
You can listen to last nights session with Scottish Fiction here. Acoustic versions of Fante, Eggshells and Blood and Glitter, chat and some choice music.
We played our first show, last Friday, at the Song, by Toad Xmas bash. It went quite well I think. Good crowd, bands, and venue. Thanks to everyone who helped make it a fine evening. The photo below was taken at the show; that’s me, with no head. We also launched our new EP, Repulsive Sunsets on the night. If you weren’t there, you can buy one at a record shop, or right HERE. Thanks.
